History
Cameron Hospital was a gift to West Hartlepool by the Cameron Family. They provided the hospital in memory of Col. J.W. Cameron, the brewery owner. He had been one of West Hartlepool’s foremost citizens, serving as the third Mayor of West Hartlepool in 1889-90. The hospital was on Wooler Road, near to the main road going north to Newcastle.
