Geschichte

Josiah Booker first distilled rum in 1815 on the mainland of Guyana. Today, J Booker Rum Merchants' Moby Dick ... dark rum is blend of specialy selected Caribbean rums from the island of Jamaica.

In first half of 1800's was most of the distilleries on the Guyana< owned by the English companies Booker Bros. McConnel & Company Limited, trading as Booker Rum Company, and Sandbach Parker Holdings, trading as Diamond Liquors Limited. These two companies were amalgamated in 1976 as Guyana Liquor Corp. and in 1983, this was changed to Demerara Distillers Limited.

Moby Dick Imported Caribbean Rum is exclusively distilled and imported for Cape Wine & Brandy Company Limited by the Jamaican company, J. Booker Rum Merchants Ltd, established in 1815.
