My bottles full of rum
History
In 1998 Hurricane Mitch devastated the Island. The entire roof of the CSR Bottling Plant was blown away and there was damage to the distillery building also.
"Cane Spirit Rothschild" made from juice from local cane. Demerara Distillers acquired the St Kitts Distillery and the franchise of the CSR brand name from Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1996. Some argue that CSR breaks all the rules because it's distilled to 95 per cent abv.
Apart from CSR, no rum is officially made here. Note the "official", since plenty of illicit rum ("culture") made from fresh sugar cane juice or syrup is consumed on St Kitts.
Demerara Distillers Limited owns 95% of the issued share capital.
According to my knowledge Belmont Estate Gold Coconut Rum is manufactured using original Sangster's reciepe.
The Cane Spirit Rothschild - that special drink of St. Kitts, produced from the fresh juice of the cane, along with the Belmont Estate Coconut Rum, are products of the bottling plant operated by Demerara Distillers in St. Kitts.
Company's name is Demerara Distillers (St. Kitts-Nevis) Ltd
