History
The factory was created in 1849 by the Eugene Eustace. From 1983 is the distillery controlled by S.A.E.M. (Société Anonyme d'Economie Mixte).
In 1861, Eugene Eustache borrowed 1.2 million francs to finance the purchase of equipment for the Galion Sugar Factory.
Since World War II, several mergers and acquisitions have resulted in the Societe Anonyme d'Economie Mixte, which now controls Le Galion, the only sugar factory operating in Martinique. In addition to sugar, nearly three million liters of rhum industriel are produced here annually.
Founded in 1861.
High-ester rum is also made in Guyana, and at the Galion Distillery in Martinique where it is known as rhum grand arome, but Jamaica remains the greatest exponent of this aromatic art.
