History
The legal predecessor of Dalmacijavino was the Zagreb-based company Vinalko, founded in 1946. In 1952, the company was taken over by the People's Committee of the City of Split. The Split company had branches in Šibenik, Dubrovnik and cellars in Split, Kaštel Stari and Novi, Bol, Komolac and Šibenik.
In 1951, another wine company, Dalmatinac, was founded. On 3 June 1958, the Split City Council founded the company Vinarske podrume, which changed its name to Dalmacijavino on 26 June 1960. In 1961, Dalmacijavino merged with the company Dalmatinac and the following year with the company Vinalko. On 1 January 1963, it began operations under the name 'Dalmacijavino, poduzeće za proizvodnju, preradu, doradu i promet poljoprivrednih proizvoda'.
In February 2001, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company Dalmacijavino dd. In May 2012, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated and a bankruptcy trustee was appointed.
