History
The Conch Republic is how the locals refer to the Florida Keys. In 1982, the Old Florida Rum Company released a line of outstanding rums celebrating the popular tourist destination. The company is the oldest distillery in Florida and the last remaining rum distillery in the continental United States.
A new product will be prouded on the market in October when Old Florida Rum is introduced.
"We have our own Cuban rum formulas and techniques," said Robert E. Way, executive vice president of Old Florida Rum.
The company will obtain distilled spirits from Lake Alfred distillery and process and blend rum in a Miami plant at 1035 NW 21st Ter.
