History
In the 19th century, the Tiede Brewery was founded in Joinville. In 1928 it was renamed Catharinense. Several industrialists acquired shares in the brewery, including Heinrich (Henrique) Douat, Eugenio Fleischer, Colin & Co, Böhm, H. Zimmermann and Werner Metz. In 1948 it was bought by Grupo Antarctica.
