English: Born 1845 in Olmütz, after attending the local gymnasium he devoted himself to the book trade, worked in domestic and foreign locations, particularly in Brno and Bremen, and everywhere gained trust and full satisfaction of the respective houses through his diligence and reliability. Arriving in Moravská Ostrava in 1869, he was active here in the same field, in the course of time founded a printing house in Místek and then in 1887 took over the local Wattolik printing house with the "Mährisch-schlesischer Grenzboten", which has been published as the first local daily newspaper since 1900. ...
