Rhumerie du Simon
Rum-Etiketten
Geschichte
Originally built as a sugar factory in 1900.
Although there is no rhum sold in Martinique under the Simon label, this distillery makes rhum for two well-known companies on the island.
In 1978, the copper distillation column at the J. Bally distillery in Carbet was moved here. Distillerie Simon now ferments fresh cane juice to be distilled in the old Bally distillation column, to the mutual benefit of both Bally and Simon. In 1988, another agreement was reached with the Clement distillery. Although the Clement distillation column was not moved to Simon, Clement now buys all of its rhum from Simon.
Simon makes Saint Etienne and Clement.
