Geschichte

1845
Bernardino Branca invents Fernet-Branca, the bitter liqueur that has made history. From the Milan plant in Corso di Porta Nuova, Fernet-Branca starts being distributed all over Italy.

1862
Stefano Branca joins the company and soon launches new products, introducing them at the fin-de-siècle international exhibitions, achieving immediate success.

1907
Dino Branca takes over and pursues an international growth policy: Fratelli Branca expands in Europe and America. New plants are opened in Buenos Aires, Saint Louis, Chiasso and a New York branch is founded. The Milan plant is moved to its current location, in Via Resegone.

1963
Fernet-Branca with mint is created, being named Brancamenta. It is a revolutionary product combining beneficial and digestive properties with the pleasure of a refreshing taste.

1982
Fratelli Branca takes over a 50% share in the Carpano Company.

1987
Fratelli Branca takes over the Candolini distillery in Tarcento (UD), Italy.

1999
Pierluigi Branca passes away. His brother Pino is appointed Chairman of the company and his son Niccolò becomes its CEO.

2001
Caffè Borghetti, the real espresso-coffee liqueur made with the 1860 historical recipe, is included in the product portfolio.

2011
In October Niccolò Branca is appointed "Cavaliere del Lavoro" by the Italian President Giorgio Napolitano.
