Geschichte
In 1945 at 16 years of age, Mr. Jose Villanueva, a young man born in a small town
in Tocumbo, Mich. (Mexico) had a golden opportunity. Hi became partner of Mr. Ramon
Gutierrez, a Spanish gentleman, in a small liquor factory. Mr. Gutierrez, who was
84 years old, proposed that each invest $ 600.00 USD (60,000 Mexican pesos) to begin
their dream of a liquor business.
In 1950 Mr. Villanueva decided to get married. One year later, he and his lovely
bride decide to purchase the remaining 50% of the liquor factory, which at that
time was named "Destiladora Veracruzana". In that year, while searching for
distributors to meet the demand of their products, they decide to establish a factory
of cold blend, naming it "Industrial Licorera La Lupe". They had excellence sales that
year, and because the demand increased too much, they relocated the factory and named
it "Licores Veracruz, S.A. de C.V.".
