Distillery in Kolín began in 1856 with the "Na Polepce" distillery. In 1870-1871, a joint-stock distillery was built by the railway near the sugar factory, which provided molasses. In 1907, a new fermentation and brewing plant was built, and in 1913 a second chimney. In addition to the main distillery, there was also the "Pod hroby" distillery (closed in 1911) and a joint-stock yeast factory (1914-2005).
In 1946, the distillery was nationalized and incorporated into the national enterprise Kolínské závody lihovarské a drožďářské. After reconstruction in 1985-1989, an independent enterprise, Bioferm, was established in 1991, and a joint-stock company in 1992. Privatization took place in 1996. In 2018, the distillery was purchased by Tereos TTD, which stopped fermenting molasses and switched to refining raw alcohol. In 2019, a merger with the parent company took place.
