Situated at the heart of California’s rural North Coast in Humboldt County, which is famous for its majestic old-growth redwood trees, rugged mountain ranges, and scenic coastline. With the abundant fresh air and clean water, Humboldt makes a great location for a distillery.

Founded in 2012, Humboldt Distillery is the first micro-distillery on the North Coast. Our focus is on small-scale craftsmanship while using certified organic ingredients. We distill liquor for folks to enjoy responsibly. So either visit us in person, or try our products and join us in spirit. You can find us at 735 10th Street, right off Main Street in the town of Fortuna. Often called “The Friendly City,” it's been said that when settlers first came to Fortuna, they named the town after the fortune they believed they found in the proximity of the forest, the river and its valley, and the Pacific Ocean.

Humboldt Distillery is 100% owned and operated by Abe Stevens. He oversees all operations at the distillery. Born and raised in Humboldt County, Abe is a fifth generation native of the North Coast. He is a scientist by training and an aficionado of finely crafted foods and beverages. He graduated from Fortuna High School, but then moved away to attend the University of Chicago, where he obtained degrees in chemistry and biochemistry. Before moving back to Fortuna to start Humboldt Distillery, he worked for several years in the biotechnology industry. Abe is also a successful real estate investor and accomplished tournament poker player. In his spare time, you might find him at the river fishing or on his boat in Humboldt Bay crabbing with friends and family.
